1830

A very bad harvest-year is described as a hunger-year in the chronicle

1835

At April, 11th., Johannes Dirks is ordained in Paderborn

Demolition of the  „Dollenhofischen Meierhofes“ (Dohlenberg) and sale of the landed properties.  (To that  Pyrach 1737:   “ von den Grafen zu Lippe anerkauft und ist ollodial.  (Right of asylum for 24 hours)“)

New building of the school (now it is the civic hall)

1890

Merlsheim had 259  inhabitants at the census

1893

Merlsheim got an own cemetery, in the time before all burials took place in Pömbsen. At April, 27th, Eduard Coböken’s wife was the first person, who was burried there

1897

Cattle-counting: 39 horses, 150 horned cattle, 369 sheep, 157 pigs, 77 goats,  46 geese, 36 ducks und 404 chickens

1914 bis 1918

1919/21

The power supply was completed with the building of a transformer house in Merlsheim

1922

The football-club Merlsheim was found,
1946 until 1954  F.C. Merlsheim-Himmighausen. 

1923

A thrashing-co-operative was found and a threshing-machine was bought.   
(The co-operative was liquidated in 1971)

1925

A warrior-club was created and existed up to the Second World War. The war memorial was finished by donations and own contribution. The municipality paid a subsidy of 400 Marks.

1928 bis 1939

The music association Merlsheim played at pageants and dancing-parties.

1939 bis 1945

In 2. World war 19 pleasures and 7 were missed to deplore. At the consequences of the war 7 Merlsheimer died.

1945 bis 1952

Church choir Merlsheim (already in the twenties there was a church choir)

Theatre performances (also starting from 1900, particularly in the thirties)

Introduction of the heart Jesu procession, which is celebrated 3 weeks after Whitsuntide.

The St. Josef contactor brother shank Merlsheim-Schoenenberg celebrated the 200-years exist

1980 bis 1982

Change of the former school into a civic-hall with production of a cultivation. Construction measures at L 951, building and renewal of the sidewalks, earth wiring of the current supply, renewal of the road lighting.

1983

Discovery of a barrier attachment, corridor 3 in the Osterfeld.

1984

Development plan Nr.1 ‘Im Brink’.

1986

Building of an air rifle shooting facility at the civic-hall.

1987

Census in June, Merlsheim has 357 inhabitants,  district of Nieheim 6813

 

Competition “Our village should become more beautiful”

With the competitions 1983, 1986 and 1989 Merlsheim could achieve the 2nd. place in the group to 500 inhabitants

1991

The canalization to the central waste water disposal was finished. List of the development plan No. 2 ’Im Brink’.

1992

Festival “ 100 years of fire-brigade and 700 years Merlsheim”

Celebration for the 100 years old existence of the fire-brigade on 5 and 6 of September. The 700 years old anniversary was celebrated from 8 to 13 of September. To this celebration Ortsheimatpfleger Karl Blume composed the book  “700 years of Merlsheim 1292 - 1992”.

1997

Introduction of street names with change of the house numbers.

1999

Mrs. Berta Spier celebrated her 103rd birthday on 17 March. She died at the 27.March 1999

2002

Publication of the book “The Merlsheimer history” by Ortsheimatpfleger Karl Blume.
